The Vertex Standard VXA-300 Pilot III features a submersible design that can withstand water intrusion at 3 feet for up to 30 min. In addition it's 800 mw audio amplifier makes the Pilot III louder than any other handheld airband transceiver available today. The Pilot III is powered by a 1400 Mah Nickel Metal Hydride battery that will last over 14 hours between charge cycles. The Pilot III features 5 watts of transmitting power output, 8.33 Khz channel spacing(receive only), built in VOX for "hot mic" keying (fully adjustable sensitivity, hang time), Nav-Comm display, 200 memory channels with 8 character alpha numeric titles, NOAA weather receive, back lit keypad and display, built in P.A. mode, extra large LCD display (30% larger display characters), One touch squelch adjustment, receive battey saver (extends battery charge life). All of this is backed by the Vertex Standard three year parts and labour warranty
