The Trip is a purpose built IP device designed specifically to connect base stations with a virtual 4 wire 600 ohm circuit between any 2 locations that can be connected via an IP network, as well as virtual RS232 connection between the same 2 locations. The benefits include considerable savings from not using expensive leased lines and because the the connection between the Trip units is virtual the IP infrastructure will automatically find any possible alternative routes if any part of the connection fails.Any failure automatically triggers an alarm which can send an e mail to a predetermined e mail address. The unit is fully user configurable locally via the configuration port or remotely using a Telnet connection.
