General Model Information
The Yaesu Vertex/Standard VX-230 series compact portable radios boast improved ergonomics, greater signalling features and wider band coverage, creating a more cost effective communications solution suitable for a variety of different applications.
Features include:
- Emergency Feature
The VX-230 series provides users with the ability to program any softkey for emergency operation. When activated, the radio will operate on a designated channel and broadcast the unit ID, transmitting live audio for pre-determined intervals. - Lone Worker
Increases the safety of users working alone or in hazardous environments. The radio sounds an alert if it is inactive for any given amount of time. If this is not deactivated, the radio will transmit an alarm to a predetermined person/group to alert of a possible incident. - ARTS (Auto-Range Transponding System)
Exclusive to Yaesu Vertex/Standard radios, the feature allows users to be informed when you and another ARTS equipped station are within communication range, allowing more effective worker coordination. If out of range for longer than two minutes, the radio senses no signal has been received and beeps at the user. This then allows the base station to alert the field unit to move back into range.
Other features include: Increased battery power, 16 channel capacity, programmable keys, flexible channel spacing (12.5-25kHz), battery power save, DTMF ANI, DTMF speed dial, 2-tone encode/decode, CTCSS/DCS encode/decode, manual squelch adjustment and radio-to-radio cloning.
Supplied with: Antenna, NiMH battery, desktop rapid charger, belt clip, accessory socket dust cover and user manual. LI-ion battery available as an option.
