General Model Information
The Yaesu Vertex/Standard VX-5500 low band mobile radio provide users with durability and flexible configuration for demanding applications, providing simple expandability and reliability. The VX-5500 is built to withstand tough environments, with MIL-STD 810 C/D/E classifications protecting against shock, vibration and over-heating.
Operates on Low Band frequencies 37-50MHz.or 148-174MHz
Please note, the VX-5500 is non CE approved & therefore can only be used outside of Europe.
Features include:
- Large Channel Capacity
The VX-5500 boasts a 250 channel capacity with the ability to program up to 250 memory groups. - Emergency
To enhance user safety, a panic button can be triggered on the front panel of the VX-5500 which alerts the dispatcher to a potential emergency. With an emergency microphone, the VX-5500 can transmit should the regular microphone become unusable. - ARTS (Auto-Range Transpond System)
Exclusive to Yaesu Vertex/Standard, the VX-5500 showcases the ability to inform users when another ARTS equipped station is within communication range, keeping workers co-coordinated. If out of range for more than 2 minutes, the radio senses no signal has been received and alerts the user. This allows the base station to alert the field unit to move back into range.
Other features include: Multiple configuration for dual-band capacity, loud audio, 7 programmable backlit keys, 8 character alphanumeric display, DTMF ANI, CTCSS/DCS encode/decode, BCLO (Busy Channel Lock-Out), BTLO (Busy Tone Lock-Out), TOT (Time Out Timer), status quick check, compander, priority/dual watch/group scan, d-sub 25 pin accessory connector, water shield microphone connector, PA (Public Address)/horn alert, user-selectable tones and radio-to-radio cloning.
Supplied with: Microphone, hang-up clip, DC lead, fuses, mobile mounting bracket and user manual.
