ICOM & Kenwood Release New Digital Radio Technology

Brabourne Communications Ltd [BCL] are pleased to announce that ICOM and Kenwood are launching revolutionary new digital platforms, which will provide business users with improved audio quality and the ability to double channel capacity among other features.

Both digital platforms have the potential to double 6.25kHz channels in a 12.5kHz spacing, meaning users can benefit from greater channel capacity and less interference, especially in built up areas. Other features include:

  • Superior audio quality
Combining state of the art and digital voice processing technologies.
  • Data encryption
Providing a greater level of security, with protection against casual evesdropping.
  • Flexible applications
Users can benefit from a variety of data and calling communications, perfect for a growing business.

ICOM have recently launched IDAS (ICOM Digital Advanced System), with Kenwood due to release NEXEDGE in the first quarter of 2009. Both digital platforms are compatible with each other, and provide seamless migration from analogue systems.
