AVL Solutions For The Desert

Recently Brabourne delivered two significant Automatic Vehicle Tracking solutions to clients within the oil sector. The first contract to supply vehicle tracking based on the Barrett 2050 Series HF transceiver is for use in Morocco, where a major Canadian oil company has begun exploration. The system will allow users to be able to track upto 30 vehicles over a very wide area. This helps to improve real time information to the client. It increases productivity because it provides positioning data more quickly during geophysical surveys.

The second contract for a Scandinavian oil company and for use in Libya is based on the Simoco SAMS5000 AVL system which uses conventional VHF radio for the bearer network. In order to improve the range the system will comprise 100W versions of the Simoco SRM9030 fixed mobile and TSF2100 100W base stations.
